PERUArtist and SMArt
For Luana Letts the techniques of expression work in favour of the concept. The ideas can be addressed through different kind of languages and each one of them has its own way to be expressed. She usually takes a lot of time to observe, think, measure and decide before executing anything. The process defines the final artwork. Peru confronts a severe environmental pro-blematic linked to climate change, water distribution, waste management, mass migra-tion. For the last seven years, Luana Letts has been developing her work around ideas related to the transformation of the landscape, as well as the different uses people give to the territory and their strate-gies of integration.
Luana Letts has a degree in visual arts by the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru, with a major in painting. She later studied photography at Tenerife, Spain and comple-mented her studies at the International Workshop on Preventive Conservation of Artistic Heritage conducted by The Getty Foundation and Yachaywasi.
